FAYETTE COUNTY NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL – GENERAL MEETING
Monday, September 14th
Registration begins at 6:15, Meeting Starts at 6:30 PM
Tates Creek Christian Church – 3150 Tates Creek Road
Dear Neighbors,
The LFUCG Division of Planning has developed a Zoning Ordinance Text Amendment that over time will increase the density, height, mass, and size of Lexington’s downtown. A text amendment will not change existing zones. However, if a real estate investor asks for a zone change and proposes a building or use on the map for “downtown” that meets the new zoning language, it almost certainly will pass quickly. Think of this as facilitating the approval of zone changes and limiting public engagement..
Hal Baillie from LFUCG long-range planning will be discussing the proposed Text Amendment, will cover some of the issues below, and will be available for questions,
This will be an educational experience. Neither the Planning Commission nor the Urban County Council have approved the Zoning Ordinance Text Amendment to this point, and it is important that the public engage in the decision making.
