Ashland Elementary School needs 200 volunteers to help build its new playground, June 21-23. No construction experience or special skills are necessary! If you can give some of your time, please click here for more information and a volunteer signup sheet. This is a great opportunity to show how much the Mentelle Neighborhood supports our excellent neighborhood school.
A big thank you to all the helpers working on the Mentelle Median. We had 11 people Saturday morning and weeded and mulched three beds as well as cleaning out the natural flower beds. The median is really looking beautiful! There are only two beds left that need some work, so let me know if you can help and we can work out another date.

Mentelle Park neighbors will be doing the annual spring cleanup and mulching of the garden beds in the median at 9 a.m. Saturday. All are welcome to join.
Because rain is forecast tomorrow morning, the annual spring Mentelle Park median cleanup has been postponed until 9 a.m. next Saturday, April 29.
Thanks to everyone who came out this morning for the annual Mentelle Neighborhood Association Easter Egg Hunt and Book Swap. And special thanks to this year’s organizers, Jessica Faye Mohler and Kim Naujokas.
Thanks to an $85,000 grant, Ashland Elementary School in the neighborhood has raised enough money for a new playground, which is to be built in June. More details on Kentucky.com and in today’s Lexington Herald-Leader.
Donations of filled plastic eggs are appreciated. Anyone willing to donate, please email Jessicafayefisher@yahooo.com and indicate the number of eggs you will be contributing. Our goal is to fill 250 eggs. Eggs may be dropped off on the Mohler family porch at 346 Memory Lane (last house on the right) by Thursday, April 12. If you have books to swap, either bring them with you that morning or drop them off beforehand on the Eblen family porch at 52 Mentelle Park.
